Elizabeth A. Beitler is an associate in the firm’s Corporate Reorganization and Litigation departments. She represents domestic and international companies restructuring their financial affairs, as well as creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies and adversary proceedings. Elizabeth also represents the SIPA Trustee of Lehman Brothers Inc. In addition, Elizabeth has experience in internal investigations, involving both anti-corruption and SEC compliance. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in Social Security and immigration cases.

The Ninth Circuit has pending before it a significant challenge to the validity of the California Resale Royalty Act (“CRRA”), which will require the court to examine the scope of the “first sale doctrine” and determine whether it is at odds with California’s attempt to establish economic rights for visual artists on subsequent sales of their works.
